The Art of Making Lampwork Glass Beads
Lampwork glass beads are individually handmade using rods of glass
that are melted over a torched flame. There are many glass colors and techniques
used to create the design and the bead is given it's shape by hand or different
tools. When completed, the bead is then put in a kiln for annealing.
Each bead is truly a miniature work of art and can last a lifetime!
In case you are interested in seeing how these beauties are made,
Youtube has several great videos that show the process:
I have devoted a tremendous amount of time to find the Lampwork glass bead
artists that I think are truly the most talented in the country and buy their beads
directly from them. I create my designs to showcase these beads accented with
sterling silver and Swarovski crystals.
